To get the answer I want you to remember the story of lord Ganesha and muruga. When they were fighting for a fruit, their parents put a competition to them that who would around the world first can make this fruit as their own. Immediately muruga got started to fly hardly. But what Ganesha did was, just he walk around his parents and got the fruit very smartly.

So smart work contains some wise act which fulfill the require.

Hard work means doing the things without using brain and takes long time and more physical stress to complete the things.

Smart work means doing the things by using brain in a short span of time with less effort.

Well in my view the difference between hard work and smart work is that in hard work the person only think about the completion of given work any how no matter how much time he she is spending on it that person only works on completion of task. But a smart work is that a person thinks about the given task and he finds out a easiest as well as most convenient way for completion of task.

Hard work is solving the entire equation and then looking for the variables which are required-in the solution. Smart work is finding the solution for only the variable asked.

Before saying all this there’s a story that there were 2 wood cutters in a jungle one cuts trees for 12 hours and the other for 6 hours but the woodcutter that cuts the trees for less hours cuts the most trees. This was because he sharped his knife after every hour.

Now you can easily differentiate between hard work and smart work.

Sir, I think smart work comes after the hard work if you work hard then you will get experience and after getting experience you can do that work in a smart manner. So I think smart work is a part of hard work or we can say behind every smart work, hard work is there. By doing hard work we got some ideas to implement the same work in a smart way that leads to smart work.
